The overall aim of the evidence gap maps (EGMs) is to make the existing available evidence accessible in a user-friendly format and highlight gaps in research. The maps identify, summarise, appraise and display evidence, primarily from systematic or literature reviews. In addition to showing programme managers and clinicians where rigorous evidence on eye health and under researched areas exist, our EGMs can also be used to inform future priorities.
