Sightsavers Reports

Advancing a standardised approach to onchocerciasis elimination mapping

Sightsavers is involved in the development of a standardised approach to onchocerciasis elimination mapping, along with the World Health Organization’s Onchocerciasis Technical Advisory Subgroup and ESPEN.

Completion of the mapping is essential if we are to achieve eventual elimination of onchocerciasis. It also ensures treatment reaches all those who are in need of it. It is important to use the same approach in all countries affected by onchocerciasis, so we can be sure that no one is missed out.

A researcher makes notes during a data collection survey on onchocerciasis.
