Genital schistosomiasis, manifesting as Female Genital Schistosomiasis and Male Genital Schistosomiasis, remains a significant yet preventable morbidity in disease endemic regions. To eliminate these disease manifestations, national programmes must transition from the control of schistosomiasis to elimination as a public health problem. This article proposes three recommendations to guide this transition: 1. Expansion of treatment, 2. Implementation of a One Health approach, 3. Strengthening of multi-stakeholder collaboration for water sanitation and hygiene (WASH)
