The role of qualitative methods in shaping policy on employment rights for people with disabilities in Uganda

Summary

This article focuses on how qualitative information-gathering interviews with policy actors have changed the perceptions and intentions of the actors in relation to policy implementation of rights to employment of people with disabilities in Uganda. The research suggests that interviews may be considered as a way of influencing in policy change, suggesting further research in the role the interview process plays in sensitising audiences for more participatory approaches to influencing policy change.
